The big event in Springfield this weekend.

As most of you already know, there was a really big event in Springfield, IL this weekend (August 23).
Did Christy and I go?
Parking was crazy.
It was packed with many fans.
It was hot.
Security was on the job.
Did we attend the biggest thing to hit our town in a long time?

Hell Yes!

Who would miss a chance to meet former St. Louis Cardinal Jack Clark.
You got it, Jack "The Ripper" Clark, Jack "the spark of Candlestick Park" Clark.
Hero of the 1985 National League Championship Series with a dramatic Game Six ninth-inning three-run home run off Dodgers pitcher Tom Niedenfuer.
Clark came up in 1975 for the San Fransisco Giants and retired at the end of the 1992 season. He was a four-time All-Star, Clark also won the Silver Slugger Award in 1985 and 1987.
In an 18-season career, Clark was a .267 hitter with 340 home runs and 1180 RBIs. He also collected 1118 runs, 332 doubles, 77 stolen bases, and 1826 hits in 6847 at bats.

To Eric, Best Wishes, Jack Clark, "The Ripper", 340 Hrs.

And my new Cardinals Koozie loaded and ready to go.

It looks like "The Spark" has started to pack on a few, good thing we are not doing that yet.

Cardinals?
Good question.
We have three teams in the area. Wt. Sox, Cubs and Cards.
I am an AL guy, but I can't be a White Sox fan because they are always in it with the Twins and they are my #1 team.
I hate the Cubs....
Therefore the Cards.

It is time to end this "eric and christy blog" ruse. I'll bet Christy brought a book to read and she doesn't have any intention of putting something up here...
